The Third Eye

This reminds me of a technique that I practice when floating (in a sensory deprivation tank).  It also tells me that I need to schedule my January float session before the month is over. :)  It's the freakin' 22nd of the month already!  Anyway, focusing until you see three happens fairly quickly, focusing deeper until you only see one (and only one), and continuing to keep that focus for a period of time is what's required to see past what is supposedly 'real'.  This is the point in the tank when hallucinations start to occur for me.  Of course, you can't see anything inside of a sensory deprivation tank, but you can still use this same technique by staring into the complete darkness, and tricking your brain.  Your mind is stripped of its need to understand senses, so lots of intense and interesting things start to occur.  I can understand how this could scare certain people, but once you learn to relax and take it all in, it can be quite exhilarating and life altering.  Trust me, the exercise below may be easy, but it’s just an example of how to see beyond what you see in front of you.  It’s taken me countless hours inside of the tank to get better and better at it.  Similar to learning lucid dreaming.  I could talk about this stuff forever.  Contact me if you want to chat and we could share experiences and maybe other techniques.
